We are proud to announce this year we are hosting the Second Wee Kim Wee – SOKA International Seminar on Global Peace & Understanding which will take place on the 23rd and 24th of February 2017.
Singapore Soka Association is our generous co-sponsor for this series, which will carry on for the next 4 years. Together we hope to work towards the creation of a deeper understanding of peace. In Japanese, the word SOKA means “Value Creation”.
In his peace proposal, Dr Ikeda, whose thoughts and philosophy ground this Series, highlights how opening up the inner capacities of our lives can bring forth the limitless possibilities of each individual. He believes in empowering individuals to resolve global issues and achieve lasting peace.
There are four main common beliefs that should be upheld: 1. Universal humanitarianism is essential to solve global problems; 2. Compassion is the pillar of world peace; 3.All world religions are already for world peace in this way, as are all humanitarians of whatever ideology, 4. Each individual has a universal responsibility to shape institutions to serve human needs.
We hope that this international seminar on global peace and understanding will inspire and motivate change in our communities and across the globe. Come and take the next step towards peace.
We look forward to welcoming you.
