As the new academic year approaches, we are pleased to announce an exciting line-up of events at the
Wee Kim Wee Centre.
We are proud to announce The Inaugural SMU-Stratagem Group Sino-Singapore Dialogue which will take place on 31 March 2016 under the custodianship of the Wee Km Wee Centre at the Singapore Management University. This event will mark the first of a series of ten dialogue sessions in collaboration with Stratagem Group. Speakers from each SMU-Stratagem Group Sino-Singapore Dialogue will include retired senior government officials, established academics and renowned businessmen from China.
This dialogue will foster discussion and debate on China’s bilateral relations with Singapore, the Southeast Asia region, and China’s impact on the world stage. In this series, presenters and speakers will consist of senior members and officials of the Singapore and Chinese community. Together, we hope to enhance the understanding and awareness of issues of mutual interests verging on our good, strong trade and business links/connections as the bilateral trade between China and Singapore continues to develop.

Hu Zhengyue was born in 1953 in Zhejiang Province, and was Assistant Minister of Foreign Affairs from 2008 – 2011 in the People’s Republic China. Leading delegations to countries in Asia as a career diplomat, Hu Zhengyue served as Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of China to Malaysia from 2001 – 2003; Director-General, Bureau for Chinese Diplomatic Missions Abroad, MFA from 2003 – 2004; Director-General for CPC Party Affairs, MFA from 2004 – 2006 and Director-General, Department of Asian Affairs, MFA from 2006 – 2008. Xie Sen Shu
Xie Sen Shu was born in 1963 in Fujian Province and is Co-Founder and Director of China Raise Summit Club. A crowdfunding platform venture capitalist, Xie Senshu was speaker in several crowdfunding conferences in Beijing, Xiamen and Yangzhou, and is currently Secretary-General of the organizing committee of China International Crowdfunding Industry Forum and Secretary-General of China Crowdfunding Industry Alliance. He obtained an EMBA from Tsinghua School of Economics and Management in 2006, and was previously General Manager of Print China Show Company Ltd (PCSC), a joint venture company of China International Exhibition Center Group Corporation (CIEC) and Printing and Printing Equipment Industries Association of China, both in Dongguan and for its Beijing affiliate in 2010.... Zhang Qi is the Co-Founder and Executive President of China Development Research Institute (CDRI), and was visiting Professor at Peking University, Fudan University, Jilin University and Shanghai Finance University. A social economist, Zhangqi held a Yangtze Conservation Strategy Implementation Workshop in Beijing that was widely reported by the China media and championed the conservation of the Yangtze River Delta since 2004, starting with a charity movement held jointly by Chinese People’s Political Consultative Conference and CDRI. Professor James T.H. Tang is Dean and Professor of Political Science, School of Social Sciences, Singapore Management University (SMU). He is a specialist in international relations with special reference to China/Hong Kong and the Asia-Pacific region.
