A fireside chat on “Safeguarding the Future”, an eight-chapter e-book produced by GIC, Singapore’s sovereign wealth fund. “Safeguarding the Future” is the untold story of Singapore’s economic history, and charts the seminal events exemplifying Singapore’s efforts to safeguard its reserves and in effect to be master of its own financial destiny. The book covers episodes like the currency separation from Malaysia, the diversification of Singapore’s reserves out of pound sterling and the founding of GIC. Freddy Orchard will use the narrative and anecdotes in the book to highlight aspects of leadership that shaped the foundations of our country’s financial security.

Freddy Orchard has over 20 years of senior management experience with the Monetary Authority of Singapore and GIC.
